Reconstructing Lives
Who We Are
Mission Statement
The Surgical Healing of Africa’s Youth Foundation is a 501 C3 non-profit organization aimed at providing volunteer reconstructive surgery to those in need. Reconstructive efforts include treating children with congenital anomalies such as cleft lip and palate and general reconstruction for traumatic injuries, burns and other surgical problems.
The mission is to establish long lasting relationships in underserved areas within the continent of Africa and provide services in a professional manner with the highest degree of ethics and standard of care. A team of surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and administrative staff will provide preoperative, operative, and postoperative care for all reconstructive patients. We will work as a team with local medical staff to provide services in the designated communities. The donations for this foundation will be used for mission surgeries, medical supplies and equipment, travel, and accommodations for the volunteer mission team.
The ability to help others is not only a gift, but a responsibility. The S.H.A.Y. Foundation believes in exercising this responsibility and making a positive contribution to the world. We will be able to affect the lives of children and their families and those in need around the globe. In addition, The S.H.A.Y. Foundation will broaden its care domestically for the Surgical Healing of America’s Youth. As we provide services abroad, we will seek to serve our own community as well.
